Lightwell Architecture is a full-service architecture and interior design firm creating bespoke architecture that embraces the built and natural landscapes of the Rocky Mountains. We offer Architectural and Interior Design services that include feasibility, due diligence, entitlement, programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, construction phase administration, interior design, and finish selection.

We seek inspiration from clients, nature, and the region’s vernacular architecture. Lightwell Architecture strives to create timeless, memorable, functional, awe-inspiring architecture.

Katherine Willis, AIA, LEED AP and Chad Willis, AIA, NCARB, LEEP AP

Katherine and Chad Willis have practiced Architecture in Colorado, Washington, Montana, Alaska, Wyoming, Nevada, California, and Central America for over a combined 30 years. Both earning their Masters of Architecture degree from Montana State University in 2008.

Throughout their career, they have been committed to valuing their client’s needs above all while providing leadership in design for the built environment. Together they have experience with a wide range of project types including custom single-family residential, boutique commercial, multi-family, and mixed-use projects. 

They work collaboratively as skilled architects with contractors to reach a consensus and resolve complexities in the field. They are committed to providing a high level of experience for each end user focusing on beauty, function, and comfort. The outcome is highly inspired bespoke architecture and spaces that enhance our client's daily lives.

PROJECT ARCHITECT

Nolan Leber, AIA, NCARB, LEED GA

  • Nolan is a registered architect and graduate of the Knowlton School at The Ohio State University, where he received a Master's of Architecture after a Bachelor of Science in Architecture with a minor in City and Regional Planning. Prior to moving back to Colorado after a long hiatus, Nolan worked in the Pacific Northwest and Midwest on a wide variety of project types including single-family and multi-family residential, commercial, education, healthcare, and sports facilities. These experiences have given him a well-rounded view of the profession and its power to impact people’s every day lives.

    When not in practice he spends his free time studying photography, learning the piano, and exploring the outdoors with his girlfriend and their dog and cat.

PROJECT DESIGNER

Katie Kumro, ASSOC. AIA

  • Katie began her design journey in high school, where she earned a technical degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising. She went on to study Graphic Design at a community college in Buffalo, New York. Chasing both inspiration and fresh powder, Katie made her way to Colorado to attend the University of Colorado Boulder, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design with a focus on Architecture. She approaches design as a process of discovery, seeking to uncover the underlying narrative that gives each project clarity and purpose. Her work is guided by curiosity, careful listening, and a commitment to creating spaces that feel both intentional and enduring.

    Outside the studio, she remains closely connected to the Colorado landscape, spending her time snowboarding, hiking, and gravel riding.

PROJECT ARCHITECT

Lexi Wilk, AIA, NCARB

  • Lexi grew up on the East Coast, between Maryland and Virginia. She has always been a creative type and a critical thinker. Watching her parents manage a business building Custom Homes set her passion for architecture into motion. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech with a minor in Building Construction. Since moving to Colorado in 2019, Lexi has loved helping clients realize their dreams through drawings, and seeing her projects come to life. 

     

    In her free time, Lexi enjoys hiking with her husband and dog, traveling the world, and trying new restaurants.
